Mezzo ClimaTech Glass Packages
The glass is most of the window, so the glass package drives most of the energy performance. Mezzo offers four. We will recommend one based on which way your windows face and how you use the room.
ClimaTech
Insulating Low E glass, argon gas and the Intercept warm edge spacer system.
ClimaTech Plus
Low E glass and argon gas with a foam spacer system.
ClimaTech Elite
Adds nearly invisible metallic layers to the glass for stronger UV rejection.
ClimaTech PriME
Three panes, three Low E surfaces, two argon filled spaces and two warm edge spacers. Meets ENERGY STAR Most Efficient criteria, per Alside.
A triple pane option is also available: a nominal 1 inch glass unit with three panes, two Low E surfaces, two argon filled spaces and a Super Spacer structural foam spacer.
Insulation Built Into the Frame
Mezzo is available with enhanced cavity foam insulation. Alside lines select chambers of the head, jamb and sill with a silver gray foam made with graphite, which reflects radiant heat and insulates better than conventional EPS foam.
- Graphite enhanced EPS foam in select frame chambers.
- Lowers the window's U-Factor, its rate of heat loss. Lower is better.
- Available on single hung, double hung, sliding and picture windows.
Mezzo Window Styles
Double Hung
Both sashes operate and tilt in for cleaning, with a constant force balance for smooth raising and lowering.
Single Hung
A fixed top sash and an operating bottom sash. A clean, cost conscious choice.
Sliding
Horizontal sliding sash that lifts out for easy cleaning. Ideal for wide, short openings.
Picture
Fixed glass for the largest, clearest view in the room.
Casement
Hinged on the side and cranks outward for full ventilation.
Awning
Hinged at the top and cranks outward. A strong choice above a sink or counter.
Special Shapes
Circle tops, quarter arches, eyebrows and more to match architectural openings.

Chrome and brass hardware finishes. Hidden screen track, with half screens standard and full screens optional.
Alside Lifetime Limited Warranty
Here is what Alside covers on Mezzo windows, in plain English.
- Lifetime coverage for the original purchaser for as long as they own and live in the home: vinyl frames and sash, moving parts, fiberglass screening and the insulated glass units.
- Glass seal failure is covered, meaning fogging or film between the panes from a manufacturing defect.
- Transfers once if you sell within 20 years of installation, prorated over that period.
- FrameWorks colors carry a 10 year fade resistance warranty.
- Alside covers labor for the first year only. After that, parts are covered but removal and installation costs are not.
- Transfer coverage is prorated: 100 percent in years 0 to 5, stepping down to 10 percent in years 14 to 20.
- Glass breakage is not covered by the standard warranty. Optional glass breakage coverage is available.
- Terms shown are for products made on or after March 1, 2025.

Who makes Mezzo windows?
Mezzo is made by Alside, part of Associated Materials. Alside describes its windows as custom crafted in America. Casey Exteriors installs Mezzo for homes across St. Louis and Jefferson County.
Are Mezzo windows ENERGY STAR rated?
Alside says Mezzo windows are designed to meet ENERGY STAR requirements, and that Mezzo with ClimaTech PriME glass meets ENERGY STAR Most Efficient criteria. Whether a specific window qualifies depends on the glass package, so we spec your quote with that in mind.
Can I get black Mezzo windows?
Yes. Black Laminate is one of the 13 Mezzo exterior colors. If you want vinyl that is black all the way through, ask about ViWinTech ThruBlack.
Does the Mezzo warranty transfer if I sell my home?
Yes, one time. If the home sells within 20 years of installation, the coverage transfers to the new owner, prorated over that period.
Should I choose Mezzo or ViWinTech?

Can I clean the outside of the glass from inside?
Yes. On Mezzo double hung windows both sashes tilt in, and on sliding windows the sash lifts out, so you can clean from inside the house.
